Hedestad

“My client would like you to visit him in Hedestad – it’s only three hours by train.”
Hedestad as well as Hedeby are fictional places which Larsson locates on the coast about 40 kilometers north of Gävle. Hedestad is on the mainland whereas Hedeby is an island. The two are connected with a bridge.
There are several places where the first Swedish film was shot to represent Hedestad. Gnesta, south of Stockholm and close to the city of Södertälje, is one of them.
